Avan caravan wiring diagram. If you can get a wiring diagram from your caravan manufacturer before we wire your car we can ensure every circuit will be in the right. I have looked at the wiring schematics multiple times and am sure that the setup isnt quite correct. Trailer plug wiring diagrams use the correct size cable for the plugsocket most standard plugs will accept up to a 4mm auto cable easily. The 12 pin flat plug have a second row of 5 larger points which will accept up to 6mm auto cable. We took the fuse out and checked the batteries to find they had drained. I have recently removed the caravan from the caravan yard and stored it at my cousins farm.
Caravan electrical solutions have wired the 12 pin plug on your new age caravan as per the table below. That chunky red cable in block 2 pin 5 should be relocated to pin 6. Another thing that annoyed me about the avan wiring was that anywhere and everywhere a wire needed to be spliced into a circuit the installer had used scotch locks. Caravan manufacturers dont all wire their vans the same way. 12 pin plug configurations necessary. We changed the fuse from a 30a to a 40a and the wires started to smoke.
For instance some common locations for a fridge wire are pin 2 pin 8 pin 9 pin 11 or it could be through an anderson plug. When we plugged the caravan into the mains we tripped the fuse between the transformer and the batteries. New age caravans have specific wiring requirements to connect your caravan successfully to your tow vehicle.
